Stolen Kayak Cedar Point

I don’t know why I didn’t think to post this out here before. But around the Fourth of July last summer, my kayak was stolen. It was left by me next to some boat slips at The Flying Bridge in Cedar Point. I know I am partially to blame since I left it unattended for so long. I even saw that someone had moved it, and never retrieved it.

I usually would bring it closer to my apartment, but thought it should be safe over there. Obviously I was wrong. So if you or someone you know removed my kayak from the Flying Bridge this past summer it would be much appreciated if you returned it. Kayaking around Emerald Isle is one of my favorite things to do when the weather warms up, and I am really bummed out about having to spend my income tax return on a new kayak.

The one that was stolen from me is a red Wilderness Systems kayak with a rudder. The cable going to one side of the rudder is broken, and kind of hanging there. It is a two-person sit in kayak with the front seat removed. There are 2 flush mount rod holders behind the rear seat. A paddle was also taken with the kayak. So I will have to purchase a new one of those as well.

If you did steal it, I hope for your sake you return it before we bump into one another out on the water this summer. I will recognize my old friend the red kayak. I will likely be able to beat the snot out of you, and I will take my kayak back with me, leaving you stranded somewhere out there. So please do the right thing and put it back where you found it.

Above is a photo of the missing kayak. I cannot afford a reward for its return, the only reward I guess you’ll get will be a clear conscience. I didn’t get to enjoy nearly enough kayaking trips last summer due to being without my kayak. :(

But this year I plan to either recover my missing kayak, or purchase a new one and I will be out in full force again.
