Well good news! At least I think it is anyway. The Town of Emerald Isle will be having their fireworks display at Bogue Inlet Pier. To me it’s the only appropriate venue for fireworks on the fourth of July. McLean Park just didn’t do much for me when it came to the fireworks.

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011After more than two years Carteret County’s new e911 telecommunications center will become fully operational. This project has been in the works for quite some time. It’s required a substantial amount of funding and a lot of hard work from county staff. According to the News Times report the center would be fully operational by the end of yesterday.

Friday, December 24th, 2010A couple beach towns along the Crystal Coast are considering the idea of charging for parking at some of the larger beach access points. Both Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle are tossing the ideas around.
Surf Night – Ballyhoos
Thursday, December 16th, 2010This Saturday, December 18th get ready for Surf Night to invade Ballyhoos once again. Surf night is one of my favorite regular events at Ballyhoos, and I bet I’m not alone in my sentiment. There’s food, drinks, and live music. Not to mention the famous raffle.
Cape Lookout High School
Wednesday, December 8th, 2010Cape Lookout High School, which is located in Morehead City is set to close by the end of this month. The state board of education is concerned about the school’s high dropout rate. It is 30%, which is the highest in the state. Many of the kids that attend Cape Lookout High School end up there because they’re struggling in a more traditional classroom setting.

The town’s fireworks display this year is not taking place at Bogue Pier as it has in years past. Instead this year Emerald Isle’s Fourth of July Celebration will take place at McLean Park. It’s set to get going at 9:30pm.

Big Rock 2009
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009This year is the 51st Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament. Saturday June 6th is the first day of the tournament, and is reserved for lady anglers. The tournament goes on until the following Saturday, June 13th.
Atlantic Beach Surf Reports

I really can’t pay much for this, so i know it is going to be hard to find someone willing to spend 10 to 15 minutes a day posting a report. But there is money to be made in this.
