Jim Lupton
I’ve always been really careful while I was living in Emerald Isle when it came to drinking and driving. If I had more than two or three beers in as many hours a cab was usually called, a ride caught, or I walked to my destination. Well in May of 2009 I was pulled over and eventually charged with DWI.
When we arrived in Beaufort for the Breathalyzer I was tempted to refuse. The officer explained that I was allowed to phone an attorney. He handed me a phone book and I started calling lawyers in the Carteret County area. None of them were answering, and I can’t say I blame them. If memory serves me right it was pretty late at night.
After several unanswered phone calls to other lawyers, Jim Lupton answered and advised me how to proceed. I immediately felt relieved after speaking with him. I was in way over my head and somehow he put me at ease. The next week we met after I got off work. It was quickly obvious he was going to give me the best defense anyone in my situation could possibly hope for.
I had seen Jim in action during my many visits to the courthouse and felt confident knowing he was in my corner. Throughout this ordeal his upbeat, positive attitude helped me to feel better. I hope to never meet Jim or his awesome supporting cast under similar circumstances, I do however wish them all the best.
In the unlikely and unfortunate event I find myself in need of a Carteret County attorney, you can bet I will not hesitate to call Jim again. I would have no problems recommending Jim to anyone else facing a similar dilemma. His contact information is below:
