While I worked in Morehead City for three years I had the opportunity to visit many of the town’s dining establishments. Let me tell you, there is definitely something for everyone here. Morehead has everything from the all too common fast-food chains to some really awesome places you’ll find nowhere else.
I’ll always be adding more restaurants and reviews as time allows. I will cover all types of dining options here. I would estimate that I’ve eaten at nearly 85-90% of the restaurants in Morehead. I usually go out for lunch everyday. It was very uncommon for me to bring my lunch to work.
If you know of a restaurant that should be listed here, please let me know. You can comment below or contact me through this page.
Floyd’s 1921 Restaurant and Catering
400 Bridges St. 252-727-1921
I’ve never actually been into Floyd’s for dinner or anything. However, I did have a spaghetti dinner from them during a findraiser. And it was delicious. Definitely homemade, no Stouffer’s or pre-packaged stuff there.
Sanitary Restaurant and Fish Market
501 Evans St. 252-247-3111
The Sanitary is a really cool place for dinner. They specialize in seafood, and are located right on the Morehead City Waterfront. I went there on a Saturday night, and because it is such a big place, there was no waiting for a table or anything. I had the fried flounder and it was awesome.
Chefs 105
105 South 7th St. 252-240-1105
Chefs was right across the street from where I worked and I used to go there frequently for lunch. My favorite was the “Black and Bleu Tuna Wrap”. It was definitely not a cheap lunch ($12 + drink and tip), but you get what you pay for. This is no doubt a top-notch lunch spot in Morehead.
Capt. Bill’s Waterfront Restaurant
701 Evans St. 252-726-2166
I frequented Capt. Bill’s quite often. It has waterview seating and decent food at a fair price. They always have a broiled/fried fish of the day too.
Shepard’s Point Restaurant
913 Arendell St. 252-727-0815
Wow! That’s what I said after eating at Shepard’s point for the first time. I’ve been back several times since too. However, it is not a cheap place, so I save it for special occasions.
El’s Drive-In
3706 Arendell St. 252-726-3002
While attending Carteret Community College I used to hit El’s all the time before class. The Shrimp Burger is off the hook. It’s great food at great prices with friendly service.
5136 Highway 70 West 252-727-9191
Awesome place to watch sports and eat good food.
Musashi Japanese Steak-Seafood
4330 Arendell St. 252-240-3431
This place was among my most commonly visited places for lunch. They’ve got great hibachi type steak as well as excellent sushi.
Wendy’s – Morehead City
4006 Arendell St. 252-726-2729
This is by far the fastest fast-food place in town. Usually by the time you pull up to the window to pay they have your food waiting for you.
