My Garden

May 23rd, 2010

Well a lot of friends and family have been wanting to see my garden. This is the first time I’ve grown tomatoes, and probably only my second or third garden. Growing in the sandy soil of Cedar Point or anywhere on the coast can be challenging at times.

Kayak Fishing Emerald Isle

May 7th, 2010

Today the weather was supposed to be more like summer instead of spring along Emerald Isle and the Crystal Coast. So I hit the water in search of some fun in the sun.

And boy was I glad I did. After the brutal winter we had, it’s so refreshing to have summer bearing down on us rapidly.

Emerald Isle Fishing 4/10/2010

April 19th, 2010

So I made it out to my favorite hole on this past Saturday morning. Boy the water and air temperature are sure rising, and none too soon if you ask me. I headed out at about 10:30 in the morning, and the water seemed a lot warmer than the last time I was out.

Came across a buoy that looks a bit out of place.

The north wind and outgoing tide carried me and the kayak effortlessly to the point on Emerald Isle. While I went by the Coast Guard station it appeared as though they were setting up for a little cookout. And what a perfect place they have for a cookout, and what nice weather we all shared.

Spring is in the air

March 21st, 2010

Well I think Spring has officially sprung. It’s nice to finally have some warm weather. This winter was brutally cold, and seemed to last forever. Yesterday it was so nice I decided to get into my kayak and hit one of my favorite spots by the Coast Guard station in Emerald Isle for some fishing.

Vote Pat McElraft Out!!

March 18th, 2010

Those that know me personally, know I’m a strong supporter of individual rights and liberties. And it burns me up when I see our legislators in Washington or Raleigh trampling over yours and my rights.

Well NC House Representative Pat McElraft is definitely not standing up for your rights in Raleigh. She’s apparently letting the Republican party, misinformation, and possibly special interest decide what’s best for you.

Riverside Swansboro

February 26th, 2010

For Valentine’s Day dinner my girlfriend and I went to Riverside in Swansboro. This was my first visit to the Riverside restaurant. I had been hearing from several locals that it was the place to go for a really nice dinner. So I thought this occasion would be perfect to try it out.

Petal Pushers

February 14th, 2010

I was in need of getting my wonderful new girlfriend some roses for Valentine’s Day. I have sent flowers in the past using proflowers.com. While they were usually nice I kind of felt they were a bit impersonal arriving in a box via UPS. So I decided to use a local flower shop this time around. I called Petal Pushers of Emerald Isle. I ordered a dozen roses and had them delivered to my gal’s workplace.

Easley’s Connection to Cannonsgate

February 1st, 2010

Ex-Governor Mike Easley and some of his aides have found themselves in a real quagmire lately. Among a lot of corruption scandals and other shenanigans financed by the people of North Carolina is a sweetheart land deal provided to the ex-governor. Its no secret that waterfront land in Carteret County is very valuable and will likely continue to appreciate in value over the long term.

Supreme Court Sells Elections

January 27th, 2010

That’s right, the U.S Supreme Court, our “guardians” of the constitution,  defenders of liberty, and all that jazz turned out to be nothing but a bunch of fakes. As spineless and ridiculous as it sounds its true. They pretty much sold the next elections to the highest bidder.
